This specialisation mainly concentrates on the abdominal cavity organs, such as intestine, esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, gall bladder; it often deals with the thyroid and hernias, as well as with neoplastic diseases (cervical cancer, prostate cancer, melanoma, etc.)
The unit performs the following activities:
  • Digestive tract surgery
  • Surgery of the female genital apparatus
  • Surgery of the male genital apparatus
  • Gall bladder surgery
  • Breast surgery
  • Abdominal wall surgery (hernias and incisional hernias)
  • Surgery for disorders of the skin, subcutaneous tissue and skin appendages
  • Endocrine surgery
